Can Advice Shift Social Norms? Evidence from Moral Decision-Making

People give each other advice for social dilemmas frequently, and many are asking large language models for guidance. We do not know how receiving advice impacts the normative appropriateness of a given decision. We conduct an online survey experiment testing if the content (selfish or fair) and/or the source (human or AI) affect perceived appropriateness in a standard dictator game. We have finished data collection.
